I really enjoy getting to know people on a deeper level so I can help them – help them get over past hurt or guilt, find ways to use their gifts, grow in their understanding of God’s Word, and develop a servant’s mindset. And, I love the fact that those same people help me when I have similar struggles and challenges. It is such a blessing that Shepherd of the Hills is a place where the family of believers are looking out for one another and building one another up so we can take our faith outside these walls.

Many people these days are filled with fear and uncertainty for a number of different reasons – money, health, world affairs, jobs, etc. But what causes more fear and uncertainty is guilt. “Am I ‘good enough?’ What if I am not as great as I think? What happens when I die? Am I ready for that?” There are so many more questions, but the answer to guilt and all that comes with it is Jesus. His love means our guilt is gone, and his love means we are assured of our relationship with him, now and forever.

I hope and pray that is the message that comes across every time we do anything around here, be it worship, Bible class, youth group, and so on. Why? Because that is THE message of the Bible. And it is a message that gives us strength and peace as we walk through the sometimes dark valleys of this life.

I am originally from Appleton and went to a brick and mortar college and seminary. I served for nine years in Columbus, Ohio before returning to Wisconsin. I have an awesome wife (Lori), and two great kids – Cooper and Avery. Football and fishing are my two favorite pastimes. And, if you’ve heard some of my sermons, you’ll also know that I like movies and reference them in my sermons.

Finally, I want you to know that I will always, gladly, find the time to assist God’s people in whatever way possible. If you see cars in the parking lot, feel free to come inside, give me a call or shoot an email anytime. I am looking forward to meeting you.
