What makes Shepherd of the Hills inviting is the moment you walk through the door you feel like you are home. You are greeted by fellow brothers and sisters who realize this home is a hospital for sinners, not a hotel for saints. It is Christ’s love and forgiveness that gives it that warm inviting vibe. From the worship, to the members, one cannot help feeling like part of the family.

I grew up in the hill country of the pre-outlet mall of Johnson Creek. My grade school tour involved attending St. Paul Lake Mills as a wee lad and then finally settling at the “Hawkdome” of St. Peter in Helenville. I then attended Northwestern Prep, Northwestern College in Watertown, and Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary in Thiensville.

My ministry included vicaring in the shadows of Lambeau field at St. Mark Green Bay. I then supervised the dorms for two years at Luther Prep, was missionary pastor at Risen Savior Cedar Grove, and then I traveled the globe as the Luther Prep recruiter. Having finished my 14th year teaching at Lakeside Lutheran High School in Lake Mills, Wisconsin, I taught 10th grade religion, coached boy’s soccer and directed the spring drama productions. One of my biggest joys was to be able to encourage teens to consider ministry and MLC.

I love spending time with my wife Kristin and our three young boys; Ian, Lincoln and Nolan. Batman is my hero of choice because he uses his God given talents to make a difference, that and he’s a millionaire too. My teams are all things Wisconsin, Packers, Badgers, Brewers, Marquette and the Bad News Bears.

My favorite quote is “Find something you love to do and you will never work a day in your life.” I look forward to meeting everyone and growing in the Word with you.
